A Summer Wedding in Murray, Kentucky

This summer wedding at First United Methodist Church in Murray, Kentucky was full of love, laughs, and unforgettable memories! Kara started the day relaxing in the bride's suite with her six bridesmaids. After getting to watch all of her wonderful bridesmaids get ready, Kara got her hair and makeup done by an amazing hairstylist and makeup artist. After hair and makeup, Kara's maid of honor helped her slip into her beautiful ballgown.

Next, Kara did a first look with Dillon's father and you could just feel love from the two. Then was the first look and the reading of their vows with her fiance. It was a very special moment between the two as they both declared their love and promises to one another. We took portraits of the couple and finished off the morning by taking pictures of family and friends.

Guests began to arrive to the church to witness the marriage between the two. Everyone got to witness a spiritual and emotional ceremony in which traditional vows and rings were exchanged. We took a few more family photos and a few more couple portraits.

After the ceremony, we went straight into the reception in the ballroom at the Curris Center located at Murray State University. The couple and guests were given the option of Italian or burgers catered by Sodexo. After everyone began dinner, toasts were given by the maid of honor, the best man, father of the groom, and the brother of the groom. After cutting the cake, the couple shared their first dance as a married couple. After doing a faux streamer exit, the couple and guests began the party on the dance floor.

This wedding was very special to photograph due to many reasons. Not only did the bride, groom, and most of the wedding party attend Murray State University, I also attended MSU. I also had many, many classes with the bride and multiple of her bridesmaids. This was a wedding in the making and a day the bride and groom had been waiting for about six years! I was honored to be a part of your special day and wish you many years of happiness and love. Congratulations Kara and Dillon Balthrop!
